Karim Georges is a record producer/songwriter/mix engineer/percussionist from Boston, MA. Soon after his parents bought him his first derbekki (a.k.a. doumbek) at the age of three, he started banging away. He instantly fell in love with the craft, but it didn't amount to more than just a hobby for quite some time. It wasn’t until his junior year of high school, that he joined the Arlington High Performing Arts Program, and that things started to shape up for him. After high school, after three semesters of attempting to persue a degree in science, Karim finally admit that the only thing he'd be satisfied studying was music, and ended up transferring to Berklee College of Music, where he eventually received his Bachelor of Music degree. Although the derbekki is still his instrument of choice, Karim has become proficient with a whole new range of percussion instruments over the past several years, including the drum set. Evenmore, what has grown extensivley since starting at Berklee is his passion for his two fields of study, Music Business/Management and Music Production & Engineering. Karim has just completed producing his first EP, Dayley Duran's "Hill City Love Songs," which has been released by his very own Atic Music, a Boston-based artist development company, in October of 2011.
